Why Booqello exists.
Booqello was built to run a live hire operation, not to be sold. Seven years of daily use shaped it before it became a product.
We went looking for a booking system and kept reaching its limits.
We tried the established platforms. They handled the straightforward part well — displaying a calendar and taking a card payment. The difficulty came with everything that makes up a hire business: verifying a licence before handing over a £70,000 vehicle; holding a damage deposit without taking a customer's holiday money; chasing an outstanding balance repeatedly without doing it manually; protecting a changeover so two bookings cannot collide on the same afternoon.
None of it fitted, so the system was built from scratch and put into live use — through peak seasons, difficult returns, late payments and the situations a product brochure never covers.

Every feature was tested in real trading
Nothing reached this product without first working on a real booking, with a real guest, on a real changeover day. Features that made sense in theory but not in practice were removed before they became your problem.
Support that understands the work
You will not have to explain what a damage deposit is for, why a changeover buffer matters, or why a licence check belongs before handover rather than after. The team supporting you works with these problems daily.

We don't simply hand over software.
The lower end of this market provides a login and a help centre, leaving the configuration, data entry and troubleshooting to you. For a business with vehicles to prepare and guests to meet, we think that is the wrong way round.
So we run it for you. That is why Booqello costs more than self-service software, and why the meaningful comparison is not against a monthly licence fee but against the hours the system gives back.
What Booqello does not do.
We do not have direct API connections into the major listing sites; what we provide is calendar synchronisation via iCal. We do not sell a website builder. We are a small team by design, because that is what keeps support answerable by the people who wrote the code. If any of that is incompatible with how you trade, we would rather establish it on the first call than at go-live.
